According to market research firm Mintel, the children’s clothing market is worth £5.3 billion a year. With more and more celebrity kids stealing the limelight from their parents, dressing your children up in the latest designer wear is becoming something of a fashion statement. Gone are the Babygro’s and miniature crocks, and in are the baby Converse, Burberry scarves and tiny bomber jackets. Here we have picked out 9 of the top looks from the celebrity world.

Mason Dash Disick

As the son of one of the most loved (or hated) reality television couples on the planet, Mason Dash Disick certainly looks ‘dashing’ in this Burberry scarf and Navy Corduroys.

Simply Stamps

*This post is brought to you by Simply Stamps.

As my children's teacher, I have an array of duties, most of which I love doing. I love seeing a new concept that we've been working on finally dawn on them, spreading that smile of the joy of learning across their faces. On the flip side, I also have to inform them when they aren't doing so well. All teachers dread this, whether they are teaching their own children or others!

As a homeschooling mom, I do think that I have an advantage here, though. When they are struggling, I can grade their work and we can delve into it right then, rather than having to wait a day or more, making a confusing topic even more so. We can work together to find what the problem is and what the solution should be.

A Unique Twist on the Classic Timepiece

I don't really wear a lot of jewelry, but am always excited when I find a truly unique piece. This was certainly the case when I discovered JORD watches. JORD watches are made of a natural, sustainable material - wood! The completed design makes for a very special timepiece that you won't find anywhere else.

I was sent a watch to facilitate this review and what I received really impressed me. It was very interesting seeing the simplicity of nature combined with the complexity of a watch. The watch I have is made of Maple, but JORD watches use all kinds of wood - Cherry, Bamboo, Koa, Zebrawood, and even Sandalwood!

Cookies by Design

This post is brought to you by Cookies By Design.

There are a lot of people in my life that I am so grateful for. My mom is right at the top of that list. Not only did she give me life, but she helps me every week with childcare for my little ones. She is full of advice and ideas, and she is always doing what she can to help in any way that she can. For all this and so much more, I love her.

There really isn't any way for me to truly ever show her completely how thankful I am for her, but there are some fun ways to try! A cookie basket from Cookies by Design is my latest attempt. She was so surprised when I showed up at her door with the basket, she really didn't expect something like that.

We were all surprised by just how large the cookies in the basket were. Some were bigger than my hand! The total number of cookies vary according to the size bouquet you purchase, but what is certain is that what you see on the website is what you will actually get. The pictures on the website matched the product that showed up at the door almost exactly.

The cookies taste will not disappoint! They taste like a shortbread sugar cookie topped in a really yummy icing. You can tell that they were made fresh! Unfortunately, they are made in a location where tree nuts are present, so this is something you will want to be aware of if sending to someone who has allergies.

Cookies by Design has cookies for all occasions. Holiday parties, birthdays, well wishes, and more are all to be found. As a bonus, the container that the bouquet comes in can be re purposed for lots of other things! I'm currently using mine as a catch-all for all  the pens, pencils, erasers and other desk paraphernalia.

Shopping for the Electronically Inclined

Shopping for men and teenage boys can be a very difficult thing. As a woman, I find it difficult to relate and therefore I struggle with what to buy. The one thing that I am fairly sure that they all pretty much universally appreciate is electronics.

I was recently sent the ARTIC P614 BT Premium Bluetooth Headphones to review and I quickly was able to understand that any guy would love them! They connect to your music device wirelessly, which enables you to move about the house or gym without carrying around extra stuff and keeps you from getting tangled in wires. The comfort level is amazing! I wore these for over an hour the other day while listening in on a conference call and there was no time that felt the need to take them off and take a break. The earpads provided a level of comfort that I have never experienced before with any other headphones.

Mother's Bracelet

When I was around the age of 13, my Grandmother came to live with us. We were able to spend a lot of time together in the years that we lived together. Occasionally, she would give my sisters and I one of her vast array of jewelry pieces. Most of it was costume stuff, but one was a very special ring, called a 'Mother's Ring'. She explained to me that it was special because the stones present in the ring represented each of her children's birthdays.

The concept of the Mother's Ring stayed with me throughout the years and since having children, I have always thought about getting one for myself, to represent my children. I recently found out that these jewelry pieces go beyond just rings, but they can be found in bracelets, necklaces and more.

One really fun place that specializes in Mother's Bracelets is Pearls by Laurel, which adds a whole other, fun component by using colored Swarovski pearls rather than stones to represent each child. I was sent one to review and I must say that I was impressed by the way it looks in real life vs. what it looked like on my computer screen.

On the computer, it looked more chunky, but when I opened up the box containing my bracelet, it is much more delicate and the color is brighter and more eye-catching than I had imagined. I am wholly pleased with the way my bracelet turned out!

The bracelet can accommodate up to 6 birthstone colors. Unless you're the Duggars, most families will be able to find the perfect combination to represent their family! Using the online tool, you can design your own bracelet to reflect any color combination and order you choose.

Saving Christmas

Last week, I had an amazing opportunity to be on a conference call with Kirk Cameron. It's kind of silly how excited I was, but I have seen this man go from a mere character on a television show to developing the kind of Godly character that all Christians strive for. He's been involved in a lot of projects, both on screen and in real life, since his 'Mike Seaver' Days.

In fact, his latest film, Saving Christmas, starts tomorrow. (Check for it in theaters starting November 14th.) I was blessed to have gotten to see an advanced copy and I can tell you that you will be blessed by it also.

Baby Proofing Doesn't Have to Take Over your Home

This post is brought to you by The COVERPLUG.

My youngest, Sophia, is about 22 months old right now. She is at my favorite age right now. She's discovering new things every day and it's a joy to watch. One day she's trying out her new favorite word (No!) and the next she's as sweet and snugly as ever. While it can certainly be a trying time, as she's well into her 'terrible two's' stage, it's also a lot of fun.

Because she is so active and I can't keep an eye on her 24/7 (If you have a child this age, you know how quick they can be if you turn your back for just a second!), I worry about things like gates at the top and bottom of our staircase, sharp corners, and basically all of the things that moms usually do!

End Alzheimer's Now!

*This post is brought to you by Banner Alzheimer's Institute.

It's been a few years now since my Grandma passed away. It has been more years than that, though that she's really been gone. You see, she had Alzheimer's. The disease robbed her of her memories, her family, and eventually, even her faculties. It hurts to think about those last few years, when she didn't even recognize me.

Alzheimer's is a cruel, cruel disease. It takes a devastating toll on the lives of millions of Americans every year. In fact, every 70 seconds, someone is diagnosed with it and 1 in 10 adults cares for someone with Alzheimer's. It is now the 6th leading cause of death. With the baby boom generation aging, those numbers are likely to increase, but the tragic thing is that there is no cure, only treatment that can slow the progress of the disease.

Care Bears Belly Badge Rock!

Care Bears have been around for a long time now, but my kids didn't really get much exposure to them until they found their aunt's stash of old movies. Once they watched them, they fell in love, and I love that they are watching something so wholesome and innocent.

The Care Bears are all about friendships and the new Care Bears Belly Badge Rock DVD is no different. It includes four new episodes, including:  Show of Shyness, Bully Exposed, Over Bearing, and my personal favorite Untruths and Consequences. In the four episodes, the Care Bears are teaching how to be a friend and get along with others.

Last night, here in the Great Frozen North, it was more than apparent that Fall is well under way and winter is soon to come. When I woke this morning, it was only 40 degrees out! While I personally love Fall (it's my favorite season!) I don't love being cold. I was so glad that I had a sweatshirt handy to wrap up in while I went outside.

It's actually my new favorite, because not only is it soft and has a zipper and hood, but on the back is printed, "Like a Boss". I don't know what it is about that phrase, but it makes me laugh! The women's sweatshirt didn't come with a zipper, so I just ordered the men's, because I like my sweatshirts to be big and baggy, anyway. To me, they are more cozy and comfortable that way.

Homemade Cerelac (Indian Style)

*Today's guest post is brought to you by 'Being Mumma'

With my son, I was always a little hesitant when it came to formula and pre-packed baby food. by God’s grace, he’s 14 months now and has never tasted formula in his life and I started baby food for him only after a good 10 months or so. Till then, I happily fed him home made Cerelac and it worked really well for him.

My son was just 7 months old when I started giving this home made ‘Cerelac’ to him (by ‘Cerelac’ I just mean baby food and it has nothing to do with the brand, whatsoever).

So, here I am, sharing the recipe with all you lovely Moms out there, to save your baby from all of that pre-packed stuff.

Ingredients:

Green Gram (Moong Daal) 1 cup
White Rice (Raw) 1 cup

Pigeon Peas (Split) (Tur / Arhar Daal) 1 cup

Roasted Almonds 15-20 nos.

Barley  4 Tb. Sp.
Oats ½ cup

Rice and Lentils are considered very nutritious and healthy in the Indian culture and are also believed to be easily digestible for babies, so these are the key ingredients of the recipe. Almonds, are considered to be good for the brain and also give physical strength to the baby, so they are added to this recipe. Barley and oats are excellent for the digestive system and thus find a place here. All in all, this recipe is packed with nutrients and can be fed to babies 7th month onwards.

Method:
Wash and dry the Green gram, white rice and pigeon peas.
Dry roast all the three in a thick bottomed pan over low flame, till they turn crisp and golden brown. Thereafter, grind them in a mixer till they form a fine powder.
Dry roast the almonds slightly (till they turn crisp) and grind them to a fine powder in a mixer.
Dry roast the oats and barley also, slightly, and make a fine powder by grinding them.
Mix all the powdered ingredients and store in an airtight jar (can be stored upto 3 weeks)

To serve:
Depending upon your child’s appetite and age, take 2 tablespoons of the home made cerelac and add plain drinking water to it. Mix till a smooth paste is formed and boil the mixture over low flame with continuous stirring. Cook it for 2-3 minutes, add sugar or salt (or nothing depending on your child’s taste and preferences) for taste and serve warm.
