reCAP Mason Jar Pour Cap

*This post is brought to you by Mason Jars Company.

I occasionally use mason jars for storage of items in my pantry. Usually, they are things that will be used up in a month or two (like beans), but they store really well in a jar, rather than in the original container or in a plastic Tupperware. I like glass because it doesn't contain the chemicals that that many plastics do and it is sturdier than plastic also.

The thing I don't like about traditional mason jars are the lids. I don't like the separate ring and top design for daily use. When I saw the re-CAP mason jars pour cap, I thought it might be a suitable solution. I have found that I really like the design, the fact that it's made in the USA, and the fact that I don't need to continuously screw the lid on and off.

Rockin' the Paul Frank Style

From about Day 1, Mostly Together Dad has called my kids "Monkey's". They have all loved being held so much that they would cling, cry, and whine just to be picked up. They have also all been very big into climbing. Hence the name "Monkey."

That's why it was so perfect when a huge box filled with Paul Frank goodies showed up! I was actually surprised with the variety in the Paul Frank line. For instance, I had no idea that they made clothes for boys! I also didn't know that they made purses and pencil cases, and even a juniors selection! (Seriously, how cute is this?)

Becoming a Healthy Habit Hero with LISTERINE

*I participated in an Influenster Activation on behalf of Influencer Central for Listerine. I received samples for this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Prior to receiving the LISTERINE SMART RINSE ANTICAVITY rinse, I must admit that it hadn't occurred to me to use a mouthwash with my older children. It makes a lot of sense, though, as the SMART RINSE goes beyond what normal brushing can do (and really, most children don't really brush all that well, do they?).

Did you know that the LISTERINE SMART RINSE is approved for children as young as 6? I sure didn't! When my daughter (age 6) tried it for the first time, she was pretty hesitant, despite the fact that it's her favorite color - pink! Once she did, though, she was very excited! In fact, we found out that there is a learning curve for mouthwash - on her first try, she accidentally swallowed some! Luckily it was a tiny bit and the rinse is alcohol free.

My son was less enthused to try the rinse. He is a 9 year old boy and it's pink and has a Barbie on it, after all! Luckily, a quick trip to the store turned up the LISTERINE SMART RINSE with Avengers (and a green colored rinse). He was more than happy to try it then!

As a mom, I try to teach my kids good habits and I want them to be able to handle some of it independently, which is why I was excited to see that the Kids SMART RINSE does not pour out like normal mouthwash. Instead, it is in a a type of squeeze bottle, which releases just enough liquid for them to measure out and use. This has saved us a big cleanup more than once!

For the adults in the house, I can say that our routines haven't changed much. We are still brushing like usual and using mouthwash. In fact, my husband wasn't even aware that the LISTERINE was a part of a review, he simply grabbed it and said, "Hey, thanks for picking me up some new mouthwash." I wasn't sure whether I should set the record straight or simply take the credit. (You can be sure, I took the credit!)

One thing that has changed is my flossing. With the new LISTERINE ULTRACLEAN, I am finding it easier than ever to reach my back teeth to get a really good clean. I'm sure that at my next checkup my dentist is going to be impressed. I always get a lecture about it because I have such a hard time getting my fingers back there. Not anymore!

I have also taken to carrying the LISTERINE POCKETPAKS in my purse. It's so handy to have when I'm not sure how my breath is doing. If you've never tried one, they can be quite intense at first, so be prepared! You will love knowing, though, that you aren't just covering bad breath, but killing the bacteria that causes it.

With the Holidays coming up very soon, good brushing and flossing habits are even more important. As for my family, one of our healthy habits is to be sure to drink water a majority of the time. We have gotten to a point where we rarely drink juice or soda. In fact, my oldest doesn't even like soda! Sugary beverages are a large contributor to both cavities and childhood obesity. By teaching our children these habits now, we are hopefully instilling a lifetime of good choices!

What choices do you make for your family that makes you a Healthy Habit Hero? If you need some new ideas or tips to bring health to your family, check out the LISTERINE Healthy Habit Hero series on Youtube.

Peace of Mind with

*This post is brought to you by

The Holidays are upon us, with Halloween only a week away, Thanksgiving coming shortly after and only 9 weekends left until Christmas. Yikes! With every holiday season, there are many people who are traveling to visit family, or even just to get to some warmer weather!

When planning a trip, there's always a ton of things to plan for and consider. When you are a family with pets, there is even more. Should you take Fido with you? Do you have a close friend or relative that would be willing to add them to their family while you're gone? What about those last-minute trips, where you need to figure it out NOW? Will you have to put your beloved dog in a kennel? (Gulp).

Family Movie Night with Jungle Master

We love to have a family movie night several times a month. It's the perfect time for our family to share some time just being close and having a good time. It's one of the memories that I hope my kids remember for a long time and who knows? Maybe when they are grown with children of their own, they will remember our little tradition and carry it on with their kids.

It is important to Mostly Together Dad and I that the movies we watch on our movie nights are safe for the kids. We don't want them exposed to anything to violent or scary, bad language or anything too adult. Unfortunately, that means that we have spent many nights trying desperately to be excited about the movie equivalent to nails on a chalkboard.

Luckily, our latest movie night featured a movie that we all liked! Jungle Master was kind of like Tarzan meets Avatar meets Fern Gully. The movie is about a girl named Rainie who decides to run away from home. She is teleported to another world, which just so happens to be magical. Throughout the adventure, Rainie makes new friends and saves the rainforest located in the magical land.

For the adults, it was fun hearing voices from such notable actors as Christopher Lloyd, Jane Lynch (love her!), Jon Lovitz, and David Spade. It brought a dimension to the movie that made it interesting for us.

One thing I did not care for in the movie was some of the name calling. Words such as "stupid", "idiot", etc., are not things that we allow in our house, so it was disheartening to hear it in the movie, as kids do sometimes emulate characters that the see.

If you can overlook the name-calling, this was a fun movie! I should also note that it has received the Dove "Family Approved" seal for all ages!

Cooking With Kids - English Muffin Pizza

*This post is brought to you by Hormel.

Every once in a while, I like to let my kids help out in the kitchen. They love getting to do something "grownup" and it's a great chance for us to do something fun together. Making English Muffin Pizza's is something that my Grandmother would do with my siblings and I when we would come over, so of course it's one of my favorite things to make with my children!

English Muffin Pizzas are so easy to make. First, you'll need to gather your ingredients:

Beware of the BedBug Menace!

*This post is brought to you by

About a month ago, Mostly Together Dad (MTD) was in Boston. As we don't know anyone there, he was staying in a hotel. He booked his own flight and hotel and didn't really think much about it. Now, when I am booking a hotel, I do so much research on it, people might think I'm paranoid - and I am! One word:

Ever since I read an article several years ago about how they are making a comeback in the U.S., I am quick to shy away from any hotel that even has the whisper of a rumor of the possibility of bedbugs! It creeps me out to an enormous degree that these insects are feeding on you at night, when you think that you're alone in your bed.

Winter Clothes Shopping with Hatley!

*This post is brought to you by Hatley.

Well, it's that time of year again! The past few days, I've been pulling out my kids' winter wardrobes, finding what fits and what doesn't. Most of it is too small, so I've been keeping an eye out for some cute, functional clothes that my kids and I can both agree on. Lately, my older two have been showing more of an opinion in what they wear, so it can be tough to always find something that we all like. Luckily, my littlest one, Sophia is still at an age where she is wearing baby clothes, so I can pretty much make her wear what I want!

Protecting Baby's Skin with Baby Mantra

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Baby Mantra. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

My little Sophia has very sensitive skin. She is prone to eczema and I need to be careful about the products that I use with her. I try to use only products with natural ingredients, that are gentle on her skin and that are fragrance-free, even though I love the scents of most baby-oriented soaps and shampoos!

Like a lot of parents, I am always looking for ways that my kids can have fun while learning. Preferably, the kids don't realize they are learning at all! When I opened a package containing the VTech InnoTab 3 Plus, I knew that I had found one such toy.

Raising Kingdom Kids

I have always been a reader. When I had kids, it was just one of the things that I found less and less time for, unless, of course, it was a parenting book. I read dozens of them! I read books on baby's first year, teething, potty training, difficult children, etc. You name it, and I probably read it! Regrettably, what I didn't read were books on how to protect my children's spiritual future.

In the new book, "Raising Kingdom Kids" by author Tony Evans, a wealth of wisdom is imparted. One thing that I thought was great is that this book is free of judgement of parent's past failures - in fact, the author shares some of his own failings. As parents, we all have them!

Enfagrow Review and Giveaway!

My youngest child is 19 months old. She is quite a joy, except in one area. She is a very picky eater. She has gotten into the habit of tossing food that she doesn’t want to eat over the side of her tray, onto the floor. It can be quite frustrating, both in trying to clean up after her and in trying to make sure that she gets everything her little body needs to stay healthy. Luckily, I was recently introduced to a healthy supplement that meets her needs and meets her stringent taste requirements via a sponsored program:  Enfagrow.

Sophia is happy to eat pasta, crackers, cookies, and other snacks, but she rarely is willing to eat green foods, foods with protein and basically anything that has DHA. It turns out that she’s not alone. Did you know that on average a toddler’s daily diet only has about 25% of the recommend amount of DHA?
