Holy Ghost Movie Review and Giveaway!

*This post is brought to you by FlyBy Promotions.

Two things that you may not know about me are that I am a Christian and I am a nerd. The first helps to define my very being. The word "Christian" is much more than just a label for me. It is my belief system, it's integral to my marriage and how I parent, treat strangers, and even vote. Being a nerd just means that I like documentaries, reading, and computers.

I read an article recently about a "Christian" band who was coming out to admit that the majority of the members were not, in fact, Christians but rather Atheists. It was both enlightening and very, very sad. It wasn't a group I was into or even aware of, but it was a really good reminder that though artists can claim the "Christian" genre, it does not mean that they live their lives that way. One thing that really stood out to me from the article is where the lead singer says, "...maybe 1 in 10 Christian bands we toured with were actually Christian bands."

The Online and Offline Worlds Meet at Webkinz!

*This post is brought to you by Ganz.

You all know how much I love learning! It's a joy for me to find new ways for my kids to play and learn. Sometimes, though, I need to take a step back and let my kids breathe and play just for the sake of playing. It's healthy for kids to have just play time.

My son and I were recently introduced to a company called Webkinz. It's a fairly simple concept with a really fun twist- kids "adopt" a stuffed toy pet and take care of them by feeding them, playing with them and just loving them. Each Webkinz comes with a secret code that the child can use to allow them to play with their pets online counterpart!

Feeling Fresh with Dove Advanced Care Deodorant

"I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence Central for Dove Advanced Care Deodorant. I received a promotional item to facilitate my review."

Last week, I told you about the Summer Sleeveless Challenge with Dove. After having the chance to use the new Dove Advanced Care Deodorant with nutrium moisture, I can say that I am very impressed! Over the years, I have used many Dove products and have come to expect a great deal from them.

This new deodorant did not disappoint! The deodorant glided on smoothly, had a light, appealing scent, and left my underarms feeling smooth and moisturized. Most important, it works like it should. When using this, I had no odor and was dry the whole time.

Today Mommy's Little Miracle is featuring a company who specializes in stylish and functional nursing clothes for moms everywhere- Milk Nursingwear!

If you are pregnant (or every have been!) you know how difficult it can be to find clothes that both fit and are stylish. Milk Nursingwear aims to change that, by offering clothes that moms can wear and be proud of!

Making Every Moment of Sleep Count

Before I had kids, when someone would ask me what my hobbies were, I could give a whole list of things that I enjoyed doing. These days, my list consists of far fewer activities, most of which I don't often get to partake in. Near the top is sleep. Like most moms, though, I don't get to do it much, and often the sleep that I do get is low-quality.

Because of my lack of sleep, I find that I can be grumpy, unmotivated, and sometimes just plain no fun to be around. I don't want to be that kind of mom. I want to be the 'always up for something fun and unexpected' mom. I can't change the amount of sleep I get, but I can do something about the quality.

With that in mind, I was very excited to try out the Pillow by SmartSilk. It's made of all-natural silk fill and cotton liner. It's moisture-wicking to help those affected by night sweats, while also being breathable, to keep you cool. Interestingly, it's also supposed to keep your skin moisturized. (I did not experience this, as I put a pillow case on the pillows that I tried out.) The pillow is also certified allergy and asthma free, which is something that is really important to me.

While all of that is great, what I was most interested in was the fact that these pillows come in different levels, depending on what sleep positions you usually are in. The idea is to align your spine and natural neck position, creating the most restful sleep possible. For instance, I am a side sleeper most of the time, so I need a level 3 to give me the best support possible. SmartSilk even has a quiz that you can take to determine your ideal pillow, taking into account gender, size, and sleep position!

In using this pillow, I have found that I actually do really enjoy the support it gives me. I actually tried out two different levels, including the level 2 and 3, though the quiz rated me a level 3. I was able to see exactly how different the two levels are, with level 3 being much more supportive than level 2. The quiz certainly pegged me correctly!

The pillow is as soft as one would imagine silk would be (which is to say amazing!).

Back to School with Staples Review and Giveaway!

As a homeschooling mom, this is a very busy time of year for me. Not only am I doing all the normal getting-ready-for-back-to-school things, but I'm also setting up lesson plans for two different age groups, joining the homeschool co-op in my area (and teaching a class!), planning activities to keep my toddler entertained while the others are learning, and more. Whew! I feel tired just thinking about it all!

At this point, anything that can take the pressure off just a little bit helps. That's why, when I was asked to review the Staples Back to School Less List, I jumped at it! In years past, I have scoured the ads, trying to find the best deals for notebooks, markers, pencils, and everything else my kids would need for the year. What I didn't realize is that I could have gotten everything I needed from Staples for less than $10!

The Boxcar Children Movie! Review and Giveaway!

*This post is brought to you by Propeller Consulting, LLC.

I grew up reading 'The Boxcar Children' books. Today, there are more than 150 books in the series! I have amassed a huge collection to share them with my children. I love that they are a family of good kids having fun on adventures. They treat their siblings with love and they look out for each other. So many books written today use sarcasm, kids with attitudes and just plain rude characters - not the message I want my kids taking in, so I was happy when my son started reading them. Imagine my surprise and delight when I heard about 'The Boxcar Children' movie!

I don't think you've ever seen an adult so excited about a children's series! (I think I might have scared my poor mailman.) When the movie arrived on my doorstep, of course I had to open it and pop it in the DVD player as soon as possible!

Finding the Silver Lining: When You are Getting Older

I turn 30 this year. While it seems that many women have a big problem with the big 3-0, it doesn't bother me. Admittedly, part of that has to do with being happy with where I am in my life, but I think it's mostly about being able to see the positive rather than just the negative.

The Sleeveless Summer Challenge

I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence Central and Dove Advanced Care Deodorant. I received a promotional item to facilitate my review.

This has truly been a beautiful summer! We have seen some pretty hot days up here where MTD and I live. However, I very rarely wear sleeveless tops, in part, because I'm uncomfortable with my underarms and I know I'm not the only one, ladies!

Dove is looking to change that with their new Dove Advanced Care with NutriumMoisture to keep you odor free and dry for up to 48 hours (I don't know about you, but that would make me feel secure!)! It's also clinically proven to reduce irritation from shaving and give you softer smoother skin in only 3 days. It sounds absolutely great and I'm excited to try it soon!

Dove is challenging women across America to take the plunge and ditch their sleeves for The Sleeveless Summer Challenge for a chance to win a trip to N.Y.C. Fashion week and a V.I.P. session with A-list Hollywood stylist, Erin Walsh!

Using Wall Stickers to Transform a Room

This post is brought to you by Bright Star Kids.

When I was my daughter Shari's age, the bedroom that I shared with my older sister was truly horrific. Nothing had been changed when we moved in and the person who had decorated it had obviously been doing some very hard drugs. Three of the walls had blue with white polka doted wallpaper, while the fourth had flowers. Worse than all of that, however, was the carpet. It was plaid. I have never seen anything like it either before or since, but it haunts me to this day as the ultimate home decorating "don't." I kid you not - it took a long time before I could look at polka dots with anything other than disdain. Obviously, I love them now!

This is the Before

Because of that experience, I really wanted to do something special for my daughters in their new bedroom. Shari is such a girly girl, loving everything pink, purple, shiny and pretty, so the choice of pink for her walls was a no brainer. I also painted all of the woodwork (which was stained a dark brown) white, so we had a perfect girls room of pink and white.

With girls as young as mine (6 and 19 months), they need more than just two colors, pretty though they may be. They need fun in their room as well. Preferably, the kind of fun that is not messy! That is exactly what I found with Bright Star Kids wall stickers.

I used the Spots & Dots Wall stickers to add a bit of fun and whimsy to my girls room. What I found when using these stickers is that they are very thin, meaning that it can be difficult to get them off of the backing of the paper, but it also means that it goes on to the wall very flatly and nice.

This is After

Another thing that I really liked is that as I was placing them, I could fairly easily peel it off the wall and re-stick it again in another spot. Doing this did not cause any harm to the sticker, nor did it cause the wall to look distorted in any way. It was really fun creating my own design and I love knowing that as I make changes to the room, I can always move the stickers as well.

I have just a couple of notes, for those of you planning to use these. First, know your children. If they are the type to pick at things, then do what I did and put your design out of reach. Also, if you live in an apartment and know that you will be moving, use wax paper to transport these (Wall stickers are ideal for apartment dwellers!). Be sure to wipe down your walls before adhering the stickers, to be sure that they are going to stick well.

That's it! They are very easy to apply and there are so many different styles of stickers to choose from. Bright Star Kids is sure to have something that will be perfect for your child's room also.

VeggieTales Celery Night Fever Review and Giveaway!

*This post is brought to you by VeggieTales.

I have been a fan of VeggieTales since before I even had kids. I remember singing their "silly songs" even back when I was a teenager. To this day, I have been known to randomly break into Veggies songs, "Oh, Where is my Hairbrush?" or "His Cheeseburger". Of course, those are the classics. Since then, VeggieTales have come out with a number of more fun videos, songs and lessons for kids.

The latest from VeggieTales is 'Celery Night Fever:  A lesson in Forgiveness.' What kid couldn't use a reminder of the importance of forgiveness? I know mine sure can! It's far too easy for children to do something obnoxious to their sibling, only to be highly offended when they do something in return!

Sweet Dreams with Bedtime Bliss

This post is brought to you by Bedtime Bliss.

Before I had kids, I was an excellent sleeper. It was one of my favorite activities! I was such a good sleeper, that when I was pregnant with my first, I was concerned that I would have a difficult time waking up when he'd awaken in the night. I was afraid that I'd be snoozing away and he would need me.

Bringing the Spa to your Shower + Giveaway!

*This post is brought to you by Aquagenix.

As most of you already know, I'm moving. There are so many things about moving that are a hassle, bothersome, or just downright annoying. However, there are also some really great things. For one, you get to start fresh. Fresh paint, new neighbors, perhaps even a new garden.

Moving always has it's challenges and as someone who has moved a lot during the last ten years, I can tell you that you sometimes really need to create some of your own positives for your new place. One thing that I have done with each place I've lived is to install a new showerhead. For some reason, just about every home I've lived in, apartment or otherwise, has the old, single spray nozzle with poor water pressure.

The Virus

*Today's guest post is written by Ms. Michelle Mitchum.

Going into motherhood, I knew my kids would get sick. After all, sharing is caring. We share our toys. We share food. We share hugs. We share kisses. We share laughs. So, I'm not at all surprised that we share germs, too.

My issue here isn't with my kid getting a virus. My issues lie with THE virus.

It started with a fever, followed by a rash, followed by a doctors visit, followed by a diagnosis. When the words first came out of the doctors mouth, I must've looked like someone who is trying to divide 7,927 by 13. She repeated it and this time I listened more attentively. Nope, I heard it right, that's what she said:

Hand Foot Mouth Disease

Immediately, hundreds of questions raced through my mind. Hands? Are their hands going to be okay?  Disease? Feet? I feel like they were walking normal. Disease? Mouth? Oh dear me, what's wrong with their mouth! Are they going to start foaming at the mouth? Disease? Is this lifelong? Disease? Were they born with this disease? Disease!?

Lil Bums Cloth Diapers Revew and Giveaway!

*This post is brought to you by Lil Bums.

Ten years ago, I would never have considered using cloth diapers. My Mother may have used them with me, but I considered the whole process to be "gross". Ten years later, after being peed on, pooped at (yes, there is a story there!), used as convenient place to wipe boogers by three children...well, let's just say that I'm over the "gross" factor when it comes to cloth diapers.

Doing Laundry Without Giving my Family Cancer!

Do you remember a few months ago, when I told you about the Toxin Freedom Fighters campaign? If not, it's a campaign all about getting congress to pass laws for stricter control of the chemicals that are put into the products that we use every day. Since then, I have been on the lookout for new cleaners to replace the ones I used to use. I am on a mission to find safe cleaners that work just as well! It's a process, though, to make a big change like this.

With that in mind, I was happy to try the new Attitude Sweet Lullaby Hypoallergenic laundry detergent.
