Baby Proofing Doesn't Have to Take Over your Home

This post is brought to you by The COVERPLUG.

My youngest, Sophia, is about 22 months old right now. She is at my favorite age right now. She's discovering new things every day and it's a joy to watch. One day she's trying out her new favorite word (No!) and the next she's as sweet and snugly as ever. While it can certainly be a trying time, as she's well into her 'terrible two's' stage, it's also a lot of fun.

Because she is so active and I can't keep an eye on her 24/7 (If you have a child this age, you know how quick they can be if you turn your back for just a second!), I worry about things like gates at the top and bottom of our staircase, sharp corners, and basically all of the things that moms usually do!

If you're like me, you've done some baby-proofing around the house. It kind of interrupts the flow and look of your home, though I feel that my children's safety and well-being are worth the effort. In spite of this, I do look for solutions that might not be so obtrusive, which brings me to 'The COVERPLUG'.

The COVERPLUG is an electrical outlet cover that blends into your decor and can match your wall color. This is because you can paint it to match your walls. What a wonderful way to easily match your decor and protect your baby!

It seems to me that some outlet covers are almost like a neon sign for babies screaming, "COME CHECK ME OUT!" The COVERPLUG has the opposite effect, in that a baby is far less likely to notice and then try to pull it out of the socket and discover some finger-size holes to play with. If they can't see it, then they won't bother it.

The COVERPLUG is such a simple concept, I'm surprised that it hasn't been thought of before. Now that it has, I'd be surprised if it doesn't overtake the baby-proofing market soon. Oh, yeah, and an added benefit that I absolutely love? These are made in the U.S. With each purchase, you are supporting the American economy and American jobs.
