Remington Novembeard Giveaway!

Celebrate the end of Novembeard with Remington!

Hosted by:  More Than Mommy

As Novembeard draws to a close, women around the world are celebrating! It's time to turn to a trusted source to get rid of the remnants of the facial hair. The Remington XR 1330 Hyper Series Shaver guarantees the best shaving experience with its HYPERFlex technology for reduced irritation and PrecisionPlus for a smooth cut.

My husband has had the chance to use this shaver for the past few weeks now and according to him, it gives a nice, close shave. He also likes that it is very easy to clean and has a charger that is easy to operate. The flex head makes it easy to use, even in the tougher-to-shave spots.

s

For those looking to get rid of even more hair, Remington offers the 'Virtually Indestructible Barbershop Clipper'. Not only do you get 2x the cutting performance vs. the top-selling Wahl cutter, but its durability is guaranteed with a lifetime warranty!

My son has very thick hair, which he inherited from me. It also grows really fast, which means that he needs haircuts very often, or he will be a shaggy mess! Finding a hair clipper that can handle the amount of use we need it for can be difficult. Also, with a squirmy, accident prone kid, bumping into things and knocking them to the ground has happened more than once.

After trying the 'Virtually Indestructible Barbershop Clipper, there are definitely some things that I like. First, it has a 10 foot cord. Second, the precision blades don't get clogged with hair. That is a big plus in my book! With 8 guide combs, it is not difficult to achieve a decent looking haircut.

Now, two lucky winners will receive a Remington product themselves! The first winner will receive the Remington XR 1330 Hyper Series Shaver and the second will win the Virtually Indestructible Barbershop Clipper! The giveaway will end on December 13, at midnight. This giveaway is open to residents of the U.S. 18+. One entrant per household, please!

Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

On this day that we celebrate Thanksgiving, I have a lot to be thankful for. My God, my family, our health, our freedom, this country, my new job, a roof over our head, etc. . The list could go on and on.

It strikes me, though, that we should express this thankfulness on more than just one day a year. I tell my children and my husband every day how much I love them, but I don't really tell them that I am thankful for them. And there is a difference.

Some days, I am more thankful for them than others, it is true. But every single day, I am thankful that I am my children's mother and my husband's wife. I am thankful that I get to see my children grow (even as much as I miss their baby days!) and I am thankful that my husband and I have grown together rather than apart over the years. I am thankful for each hug and every kiss. I am thankful that I have a good, loving man to be my husband and father to our children.

I am resolving today to tell them more often not just that I love them, but that I am thankful for them.

HALFTEE Review

Many of you know that I am a nursing mom. My daughter is 10 months old and I often struggle to find tops that make it easy to nurse while not being too revealing. I am most comfortable in tops that are not too low cut. I was recently introduced to HALFTEE, which has solved this problem for me!

The HALFTEE is perfect for creating a layered look and for giving a low cut top a bit higher neckline. I love that it is reversible. One side has a higher neckline and one a bit lower, meaning that you can get two different looks with just one HALFTEE.

Another thing that is great about this top is that with the cooler months upon us, my long-sleeved HALFTEE gives me the ability to wear my short-sleeved tops year round. The top has a non-slip 2" wide band that fits right under the bust, meaning that when you put it in place, it doesn't move all around.

For those who are currently or will be pregnant soon, this tee will not get in the way, as it doesn't go over the belly at all and is very comfortable.

*I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I had FIVE Children Last Week...And Why I would Do it Again!

This past week has been a very full one! My sister decided to elope and trusted her two girls with me. That left me with five kids! In addition, I started training at a new job. I admit, there were times when I thought I was losing it!

King Alex and Queen Hannah
At one point, I went to WalMart, grabbed a few things and was ready to check out, only to find that I had forgotten my wallet in the car. So, we schlepped out there, found out that it was not in the car, and had to go all the way back inside to return the case of lemonade that was in the bottom of the basket (oops!).

There were extracurricular activities missed and extra laundry to do. There were more baths to give and more mess. There were also more hugs and kisses. More snuggles, more "I love you's." There was more laughter and more love all around!

It was also a great chance for all the cousins to become better friends. Alex is 8 and his cousin Hannah is older by less than a year. Shari (age 5) is older than her cousin Katelyn by just 4 months. So, they each had a buddy this week. Because we have just moved back into the area, they hadn't yet had the chance to spend much time together, but this week they have gotten the chance to make up for all that missed time.

Getting ready for snow!

We did have the chance to have a lot of fun. The kids played King and Queen (the poor little girls were the "servants"!), they painted butterfly magnets and played board games. They played computer games (CoolMath-Games.com), and built forts with the couch cushions. We went to the library one day and played in the snow another. They had a lot of fun playing with HEXBUGS and with little Sophia. For those of you wondering, YES, I let the kids watch television also!.

With so many girls in the house, poor Alex was very outnumbered! He also got bumped out of his room and slept on the couch. I don't think he minded too much, though. He was bummed to see his cousins go!

One thing I learned this week is that I need to get better organized! I have several calendars around, each one with a different purpose. Instead of that, I need to get one calendar or date book that can handle it all. I actually got all 5 kids fed, dressed, and to the early service at church on Sunday, and that is only because I was working on my organization!

My hat goes off to all you parents/caregivers who do it every day with that many!

Christmas Shopping with MeGive!

*This is a sponsored post.
It's that time of year again. The time when everyone from Grandparents to Aunts and Uncles and even friends are asking, "What does little John or Jane want for Christmas?" So, we wrack our brains to think of a wide range of items and prices that they would like. For each person who asks, you have to keep coming up with new and different things!

There is now a solution to that problem. MeGive.com is a new, FREE website that makes Christmas shopping easy! After creating an account, simply create one list per child. You can then add your friends and family, who can then see your list.

They can choose from the list, and when they do, they select an "I'll Buy It" button. The others on the list then know that the item has been "taken" and they shouldn't choose that item also.  This way, there will not be problems of getting multiples of the same gift. The owner of the list does not get to see which items have been "taken", so it is still a complete surprise!

Do you need gift ideas? They can help with that too! They have an entire database of popular items and gift ideas, or just add your own.

Of course, this service is not limited to just Christmas. It works perfectly for wedding gifts, birthday gifts, graduation, or any other time you would like to give someone a gift! Ladies, does your husband need guidance, but you still want that surprise? Make a list just for him!

Remember, it is completely FREE, so make as many lists as you like!

P.R.K Food Jar Organizer Review and Giveaway!

*I was sent a product for review.
If you have children of any age, you know how important organization is. Whether you are organizing activity dates, after-the-game snacks, or your babies food, the better organized, the smoother life goes.

P.R.K. products is a company that helps parents get their kitchen cupboards organized. From bottle storage to baby food, breast milk to sippy cups, they know what it takes to get and stay organized. All of their products are BPA and Phthalate free and made in the U.S.A.

I was sent a baby food jar organizer and it has really helped me keep a handle on my daughters food. Each organizer can hold up to 16 jars of food. They are also adjustable, so that when your baby is in stage 1 foods, the organizer can sit lower, to maximize shelf or counter space. Assembly is a breeze, literally taking only a minute to put together.

I have mine organized my type of food. Two slots are for fruits, one is for vegetables, and another is for pasta and rice foods. As you can see, it can easily hold square or rectangular containers as well as jars, but you are certainly not limited to those! Though I only have one organizer, I love that you can easily stack these also!

Right now, one lucky reader is going to win their own P.R.K. product (either the bottle organizer or the Food Jar Organizer)! If you just can't wait, you can grab one of these now for only $24.95 (FREE shipping!)

Wantable Box Subscription Review

I love subscription boxes. It's like getting a gift every month, because you don't know what exactly will be included. Sometimes it can be a bit nerve wracking when you go for a box that can be more subjective, like makeup. However, with a subscription like Wantable, you are able to personalize with things that you Like, Love, or Dislike. They will send you the things that you love and like, but never send you the things that you dislike.

A Wantable box is a great way to get to try new things that you maybe wouldn't have thought to try before. I got to try out the subscription and was sent StarLooks Lengthening Mascara ($16.00), StarLooks Eye Shadow - Matte Sand ($12.00), Color Club Nail Lacquer ($8.00), Face StockHolm Corrector Quad ($32.00), and a sample of Skiin Instant Skin Tightener & Line Filler. If I had bought all of these items seperately, I would have spent a total of $68! Instead, a box of this size can be sent out for a cost of only $36 per month.

I was happy with the selection sent to my door. My personal favorite is the nail polish. I love trying out new nail polishes, and the color sent to me, 'Feverish' is one that I really enjoy. In the bottle, it looks very dark and is not one I would have chosen on my own. When applied to the nail, however, it is not nearly as dark and is a color I would wear everyday!

The eye shadow color isn't my favorite, though it is actually a very nice quality. It is a simple matter to change my selections to get something different next time! All it takes is logging in and changing my profile to reflect my new choices. Each month can be something new and different and FUN!

Preparing for the Holidays with Basic Invite

*This is a sponsored post.
http://www.basicinvite.com/holiday-cards/ornaments-letters-holiday-cards.html
As the Holiday's approach, it's time to start thinking about those Holiday greeting cards. The more personal a card can be, the better. However, who has time to sit and hand-write dozens of greeting cards? As a busy mom, I know I don't!

Basic Invite is a website that specializes in making the invitations, announcements, and cards for any occasion. Their cards are the kind that will end up on display or in scrapbooks for years to come. Though they specialize in wedding invitations, they have brought the same quality and ingenuity to a new line of holiday cards and there are now over 150 to choose from!

http://www.basicinvite.com/trees-holiday-cards.html

What sets them apart? Instead of going to a card store and selecting the same card as 1,000's of other people, BasicInvite.com allows you to choose a card, customize your colors, add photos, text and a signature all from your computer. You can preview your work and tweak it until it is something that reflects your own personality and sense of style.

http://www.basicinvite.com/the-happy-mini-fold-holiday-card.html

Also, unlike a card shop that will charge you $3-$6 per card, Basic Invite holiday cards start as low as $0.97 per card! So, not only are you getting a better, more personal card (and saving time!), you are saving money while doing it!

To further save you time, you can even have your cards come to you with your return address already printed on the envelope (a free envelope is included with each card!). Once you receive your cards, it will be a simple thing to address them and drop them in the mail!

PrimaLoft Luxury Down Alternative Comforter Review and Giveaway!

Sponsored By:  Allergy Buyers Club

*I received a product to facilitate my review.

Mercia Tapping is the founder and CEO of AllergyBuyersClub.com. She was once an allergy sufferer, in the worst way - she was allergic to just about everything that moved! As those of us with allergies know, it can be a difficult thing, managing your day-to-day life while dealing with allergies. Merica was no different. But she learned how to deal with her allergies, and she learned which products worked and which ones didn't. That is why she started her company some 15 years ago, and why she has such high standards for the products they sell.

With the winter weather upon us, now is the time for snuggling into bed and wrapping ourselves in warm blankets. The PrimaLoft Luxury Down Alternative Comforter is the perfect way to keep warm at night. I am not exaggerating when I say this comforter keeps you warm. Up here in the great frozen north, it is practically a requirement to have a nice big fluffy comforter, and this one does not disappoint.

This comforter replaced a down comforter that I have had for quite a few years. The problem with down is that the feathers start to come out after a while, and they all tend to lump in the corners, leaving the center of the blanket cold. You won't have that problem with this one, as instead of down, it is filled with hypoallergenic, anti-microbial PrimaLoft fiberfill. So there are no feathers that will start poking out. Also, the comforter is sewn in blocks, meaning that the fillings won't shift to the edges or one side. It will be warm and stay warm!

One thing I was a little worried about was the fact that this is an all white comforter. However, it really helps to lighten up the darker colors in my bedroom and because it is machine washable, it really isn't a problem and it looks great with the Dreamfit Cotton Sheets!

Another thing that I really love is that it is made in the USA! So, you can rest easy knowing that not only will your allergies be taken care of, but you won't have to worry about where or how it was made. Though some people think that 'Made in the USA' products are more expensive, Allergy Buyers Club has a low price guarantee! So you are truly getting the best product at the best price.

Allergy Buyers Club is generously giving away one of their beautiful PrimaLoft Luxury Down Alternative Comforters! This giveaway is open to those in the U.S. 18+ and it will end Dec. 6, 2013. One entrant per household, please!

Thinking Outside of the Box for Christmas

*This is a sponsored post. Regardless, I only recommend products/services I believe in.

I have talked a bit lately about different gift ideas for the Holidays, focusing mostly on children's gifts. However, there are many important people in our lives, and they should certainly not be forgotten!

When thinking about my parents and my husbands parents, it can be very difficult to think of something that they might want as a gift. They are at a point in their lives that they don't really want a lot of knickknack type of things, and if they really want something, they will usually go out and buy it themselves. So what is a good daughter/daughter-in-law to do?

You have to get creative! Think outside of the box and think about what brings them the most joy in life. For many, the answer is, "Their Grandchildren!" Unfortunately, while they may drive me crazy sometimes, I don't think I could ship my children 1,000 miles to see their grandparents. The next best thing is a video, so they can at least see them.

Here is where, if you are like me, you run into a snag. While I can point the camera in the right direction (most of the time!), I can't really do much to make it look good. That is where VideoTov comes in.

VideoTov is a professional video editing service. They can take your home videos and create something worth watching over and over again.

The process is very simple. First, just upload your footage and pictures. Let the editor know of any music, ideas, or commentary you would like included and the editor will put it all together in a way that makes sense and creates a flow for the video. Next, you get to view what has been put together and make some changes. If you find that you would rather a different music or commentary, it can be worked on! You can even let your friends and family make their suggestions as well. The last step is to make your payment and share your video!

I think it is amazing that a company is willing to do all of that work with no payment up front. That tells you that not only do they want you to have a good customer experience, but that they will really work to make you happy. You just don't find that level of commitment much these days!

Of course, while this makes a great gift for grandparents, there are many other applications for VideoTov as well. They can take your wedding video up a notch, or perhaps putting together a digital scrapbook of your baby's first year. If you can record it, VideoTov can edit it!

Personalized Baby Gifts from Reed & Barton!

My family and I have moved quite a bit in the past few years and I have learned that I can't keep all of my children's baby clothes, or all of their old toys etc. However, each child does have some special mementos that I could never part with and which I know they will cherish some day.

My son, Alex has a toy chest that was handmade by his Great-Grandfather just for him. My daughter Shari has a bracelet that was engraved just for her from her Grandma. Sophia, my youngest now has a Silverplate Revere Cup from Reed & Barton that is personalized just for her.

In my opinion, personalized baby gifts are one of the most treasured things that a new parent can receive as a gift. Not only is it something that they will treasure, but when their child grows up it is something that they can pass down to their children. It can become a fun family tradition to get each new baby their own personalized item. My Dad has a silver cup, so I thought it would be fun to get one for my infant daughter as well.

Of course, Reed & Barton has more than just cups for babies. They also carry flatware, bowls, plates, banks, musical pieces, waterglobes and of course, picture frames. Everything they carry is high-end, top of the line quality.

The cup that I received for review is a very simple design that is reminiscent of a time gone by. The simplicity of it is great, though, because it lets the engraving take center stage. My dad's cup is monogrammed, so I thought it would be a neat idea to have Sophia's cup share that similarity, although there is also the option to create a 40 character message of your own choosing.

On the back side, I took the opportunity to create my own message, having "May your cup runneth over" engraved. It is my way of sharing my wish for her, and so she may always see that she is loved.

The Revere cup is made with Silverplate, although you can find sterling silver, pewter and stainless steel as well cups as well. The cup I received is so shiny and bright that I found it difficult to take good pictures, so you will have to excuse the terrible pictures! If you look closely, however, you can see how finely done the engraving is. I chose a script, but there are several different fonts available to suit any taste.

Do you have a special memento for your children?

*I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Exploding Cookware

If you are a follower of this blog on Facebook, you might have seen my update the other night about a glass dish exploding in my oven! While making my Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin, I decided to add a little bit of water to the dish while it was cooking. Almost immediately, the glass dish exploded with a very loud BANG! I jumped about 5 feet in the air and was so grateful that there were no kids in my kitchen at the moment.

Of course, now I feel like an idiot, as I have heard many times that glass cannot handle extreme changes in temperature. Although I have done this many times in the past without incident, you can bet that I won't do it again!

A quick internet search turned up lots of people who have had this happen to them, some claiming that it only happens with Pyrex, because they changed their glass making formula. However, this can happen anytime there is a sudden change in temperature when dealing with glass and is not limited to one brand of cookware.

So, even if you are much smarter than I am and would never put cold water (or lukewarm) in a very hot baking dish, let my accident be a reminder to you! Has this ever happened to you?

Bring the FUN with Mooshka Dolls!

*This is a sponsored post.
In a culture where young girls are growing up way too fast, the toy aisle is a place parents must be on guard these days. Even dolls have gotten farther and farther away from the innocent imaginative play enhancers they originally were. Too often, when walking down the toy aisle, I see dolls that are scantily dressed, or that encourage attitudes that are unacceptable.

That is why, when a toy comes along that is innocent, imaginative and FUN, I sit up and take note. One of the hot toys for girls in 2013 is the Mooshka Dolls. Mooshka Dolls “were once paper dolls, until one day they joined hands and through the power of friendship they became sweet, huggable girls.” Little ones can take this backstory and create a complete imaginary world of fun!

There are 13 dolls, each with their own look, birthday, name and personality. Just like your own little loved one, no two dolls are the same!  You can match your own little girls’ personality with that of her doll, or pick out a friend that she would love to connect with.

Some of the dolls sing a tune when you join hands with them. They also each come with a chain of their paper doll friends and several of the Mooshka Dolls come with their own finger puppet dolls. They are perfect for snuggling with, as each doll is made of a soft machine-washable fabric.

As your little girl grows, she will appreciate all of the different sizes of Mooshka Dolls. I have my eye on the Katia doll for my 5 year old. Not only does she love to sing and dance, but her coloring is similar and her birthday is almost the same. She is definitely going to be on my Christmas list for her this year!

For my littlest girl, the Zana “Tots” doll would be perfect. She is Katia’s little sister! While my little Sophia isn’t quite a year yet, I already want one of these for her. I love that these dolls can go together and can encourage sisters to play cooperatively with each other.

Moshka Dolls are available at Walmart, Target, Toys ‘R Us, and Amazon. If you see one, you will want to grab it while they are still available. As we get closer to the holiday season, these are going to be very difficult to find!

To get the latest updates, like Mooshka Dolls on Facebook!

Soaker Stopper Review and Giveaway!

*I received a product to facilitate my review.
Every parent has been there...we have all had to endure the horror that is the diaper explosion. Every single one of my babies has done this at some point - some more than others! Often, it would be a week or more of poop-up-the-back, toss the baby in the bath and burn the jammies kind of awful!

I recently came across a company called Melzy Baby that has solved this problem! They have created the first and only diaper extension. There are two extensions, the 'Blowout Blocker' that is perfect for babies up to 9 months, and the 'Soaker Stopper' which is for older babies, with a waist size of 14-20 inches.

My now 10 month old daughter was the itty-bitty princess of the blowout diapers. Now that she has started solid food, however, those are much fewer than they used to be. She still sometimes has problems with a very wet diaper in the mornings, as she is STILL waking every few hours to nurse in the night.

We got to try the Soaker Stopper for a review and it really worked! While she still wakes up with a heavy diaper, there are no more leaks, and I don't have to change her sheets every morning. When putting it on her, the most difficult part is getting her to lay still enough to wrap it around her. The waistband is adjustable, so it will fit for quite a while. While it is fully compatible for both disposable and cloth diapers, there is an extra tab to hold it more securely in place with disposables.

Both products are made with soft absorbent fabrics, which helps to pull moisture away from the babies skin and keep them dry. They are completely machine washable (and reusable) and totally worth the purchase price of $13.25.

Right now, though, one of my readers will get a chance to win a Soaker Stopper or Blowout Blocker of their choice! The giveaway is open to the U.S. only, 18+. One entrant per household, please!

Order Out of Chaos Academic Planner

I love educational materials. I think I have made that very clear in some of my previous posts! One thing I haven't talked much about, but that is almost as important, is organization. Regardless of age or grade, if there isn't a measure of organization, then it is very easy to fall behind and let things fall through the cracks.

As a homeschooling mom, I take organization of my children's education very seriously. To assist me in that endeavor, I have always purchased planners for myself to help us keep on track. This has worked fairly well, but these planners do nothing to help me keep track of other activities. More importantly, it does not teach my son responsibility and accountability if I am doing everything myself.

We started using the Order Out of Chaos Academic Planner 2013-2014 with my 8 year old son and I think it is absolutely wonderful! Though it was made for kids in middle school or high school, I have found it to be completely adaptable for use with our homeschool as well.

While most planners provide the ability to write out assignments, this one not only does that but it also offers the ability to schedule after-school activities, it has a small monthly calendar on each page (and a larger one that you can write on at the start of each month as well) and enough room to write notes under each section.

One of the biggest differences between this planner and others is that this one has a section where you write in the subject matter and you never have to write it in again! Simply flip the page and it lines up with the assignment boxes and you are able to save time and only fill in assignments and notes.

Another big bonus for this planner is that it has a pocket in the back. It is perfect for keeping extra study materials in. We have used ours to hold spelling lists and math fact sheets. It is larger than many other academic planners, which makes it much easier to write notes and organize thoughts.

The one improvement I would suggest is a more sturdy cover. When ours came in the mail, the corners were already starting to bend a bit. A vinyl cover on this would make it just about perfect!

Steam Boy Steam Mop Review and Giveaway!

Sponsored by:  Allergy Buyers Club

*I received a product to facilitate my review.

Allergy Buyers Club is a company that has been in business for the past 15 years, specializing products that keep your home clean and allergy-free. This is a company that truly cares about the people they serve and the products they sell. They know that most of the people they serve are searching for allergy relief, so most products ship the same day they are ordered. In addition, they have a low price match, so their customers can get the best products at the best prices!

One of the products they carry is the Reliable Steamboy T1 Steam Mop. This mop allows you to get your floors clean without the use of harsh chemicals. The triangle shape of the mop head allows for easy cleaning of corners, and the microfiber pads are washable (each unit comes with two pads).

When the unit comes in the mail, it does need some assembly. It is very easy to do, however. There are two screws, one to lock the handle into place and the other to lock the mop head into place. Once that is done, there is just the simple matter of adding a microfiber cloth to the mop head, tightening the drawstring (so it will stay in place), adding some water and plugging it in! It is a very simple process.

When I used my steam mop for the first time, I wanted to be sure I was giving it a true test, so I swept and mopped my floors like I normally would before using the steam mop. I was shocked and kind of disgusted to find that there was a lot more dirt there than I would have thought there would be after using my regular mop!

This is what the Steamboy picked up AFTER I had already swept and mopped with a regular mop!
After mopping, the floor dried much more quickly than it used to when using my old mop or Swiffer. Getting it ready to store away is a snap, as all you have to do is remove the microfiber cloth (carefully, it might still be hot), dump out any excess water, and hang it up by a hook that is on the back of the unit (I love that feature!).

I can tell you that I will definitely be using this often! I have a 10 month old crawler in the house and I don't have to tell you that  babies of this age are always putting their hands in their mouths. With the Steamboy on my side, I feel much better about letting her crawl around on my kitchen floor.

In addition to cleaning tile, marble, hard wood (sealed), ceramic, etc. this can also clean carpets! There is an included carpet glider, which simply attaches to the bottom of the mop head after the microfiber cloth is already in place. It helps it to move over carpet much more smoothly. This would be perfect for those who have pets who are still being potty trained, as the steam sanitizes the entire area.

Allergy Buyers Club is giving away a Reliable Steamboy Steam Mop to one lucky reader! The giveaway will end on November 29, at midnight. It is open to residents of the U.S. 18+. One entrant per household, please!
