Sausage Balls

One of my favorite appetizers is sausage balls, which is kind of crazy, since I have never actually made them myself! So, I set out to find a recipe. I found several that would work, but I really wanted to put my own spin on it. I added a few things, and changed a few things….and the result was NOT good! Really, it was just bad! Even Alex, who will eat almost anything didn’t want a second one. So, decided to stick with the original. If you have been looking for a great, but simple recipe, here it is:

Sausage Balls
1 lb. Ground Sausage
1 lb. Sharp Cheddar Cheese
2 cups Bisquick

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Combine your ingredients and form into walnut sized balls. Bake them in the oven for 20 minutes.
*The original recipe can be found on Allrecipes.com

Now, as simple as this recipe is, I do have a few tips to make it even easier! First, use a large Ziploc bag to mix your ingredients. It makes clean up so fast, and it helps keep the gunk from getting under your nails. Next, mix your sausage and Bisquick before you add the cheese, as it helps to ensure it all gets mixed evenly. You might be like me and think that it is too much cheese, but it turns out perfectly, I promise! And really, can there ever be too much cheese?
