Rock n' Learn Sight Words Level 3 DVD Review

My daughter, Shari, is five now and has started Kindergarten. We have been working a lot on reading, and with that, a lot of sight words. While she is just beginning, it is amazing to me how quickly she can pick things up. I like to use many methods of teaching, including flashcards, finding the words in real life situations, singing silly songs to remember things, and also media such as the computer and television.

Combining all these things is giving her the greatest chance of learning and helping to reinforce the lessons she is learning. I was recently sent the Rock n’ Learn Sight Words Level 3 DVD to review. I was a little worried that it would be beyond her, and some of it is, as she is just beginning. She has surprised me, though, as she is retaining a lot of the words.I know this because I made some flash cards of the words she is learning on the DVD and while she didn’t get all of them, she did get enough to surprise me.

We also own some of the Preschool Prep Sight Words DVD’s. I really liked their series of preschool basics (colors, shapes, numbers, and letters), but when we got to the sight words, I found them to be too simplistic to hold my daughters attention for long. This was definitely not the case with Rock n’ Learn! There are not only the sight words, but there are songs, stories, and lots going on to capture little ones attention.

Another thing that I really liked about this DVD is that the words are broken down into sections. You can easily pause and replay each section. I liked using this to ensure that my little girl was able to fully grasp each section before moving on.

As if my opinion wasn’t enough, Rock n’ Learn just been recognized as the gold winner for the 2013 National Parenting Publications Awards! Rock n' Learn is offering my readers a 25% off discount code!  Just enter JQ7711 for your discount on any DVD on the site!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
