Q & A with Renae

"My son is having the same issue but he is only 3 1/2 years old. He has been potty trained for almost a year and has never had an accident. Well, we brought our baby girl home in Feb. and that's when it started. We understand why he is having them but it is becoming very frustrating. We have been patient and have started to remind him to go potty....

When Your Big Kid has a Potty Accident

The other day, my 5 year old daughter, Shari did something she hasn't done in well over two years. She wet her pants. While it really surprised me, I knew that it was important to handle it delicately. She is at a point now that things like this have the real potential to shame and embarrass her.

Easter Egg Bingo!

This year, Easter falls on April 20. I love Easter! It's one of my favorite holidays. There's so much fun stuff to do and egg hunts are just a small part of it all. Those cheap plastic eggs have other uses too. For instance, you can use them to play Easter Egg Bingo.

Losing Weight When you have a Sweet Tooth

Well, three months after New Years Resolutions have been made, I'm betting that I'm not the only one who has been struggling with their 'losing weight/getting healthier' goal. I think the hardest part of any diet is just getting started.

Taco Chop

I feel like it's been a really long time since I've shared a recipe with you all. The 'Taco Chop' is something that my husband came up with one day when he was playing around with making dinner. It was delicious and I knew you all would love to try something new also!

Happy Father's Day!

With Father’s Day coming up, I have been wracking my brain trying to think of the perfect gift for my husband. It’s very difficult to think of something that could possibly show him how much he means to me and to our children.

How do you adequately thank the man who has meant and done so much? He has been up with me late at night with the baby (each one!), he takes the time to help in our homeschooling, and he works so hard to provide for our family.

He has coached soccer, taught Sunday School, and worked in the defense of our country. He does all these things for our family, and while a card is always nice, I want to do more for him than that.
Although nothing is going to be enough to show him how much I love him, I decided to do a “Day of Favorites” for him. We will start the day with his favorite pancakes for breakfast, then we will have a picnic for lunch at his favorite spot, followed by his favorite dessert (flan!).

He and the older kids will be able to play his favorite sport, soccer while on the picnic, and then he can do his favorite afternoon activity…take a nap!

In addition to doing all of his favorites, I am going to make sure that he gets a break from doing all the day to day stuff. He will have no diaper changes, no meal prep, no getting kids dressed and ready to go, and no overseeing bath time. We all need a break sometime, and he has certainly earned his!

I also want to give a shout out to my awesome dad! He has loved me through difficult times (the teenage years when I was the difficult time!) and he was the one who showed me what a great dad looks like, which I found in my handsome husband! I love you, Dad!

What are you going to be doing for the father’s in your life this Father’s Day?
