Q & A with Renae

"My son is having the same issue but he is only 3 1/2 years old. He has been potty trained for almost a year and has never had an accident. Well, we brought our baby girl home in Feb. and that's when it started. We understand why he is having them but it is becoming very frustrating. We have been patient and have started to remind him to go potty....

When Your Big Kid has a Potty Accident

The other day, my 5 year old daughter, Shari did something she hasn't done in well over two years. She wet her pants. While it really surprised me, I knew that it was important to handle it delicately. She is at a point now that things like this have the real potential to shame and embarrass her.

Easter Egg Bingo!

This year, Easter falls on April 20. I love Easter! It's one of my favorite holidays. There's so much fun stuff to do and egg hunts are just a small part of it all. Those cheap plastic eggs have other uses too. For instance, you can use them to play Easter Egg Bingo.

Losing Weight When you have a Sweet Tooth

Well, three months after New Years Resolutions have been made, I'm betting that I'm not the only one who has been struggling with their 'losing weight/getting healthier' goal. I think the hardest part of any diet is just getting started.

Taco Chop

I feel like it's been a really long time since I've shared a recipe with you all. The 'Taco Chop' is something that my husband came up with one day when he was playing around with making dinner. It was delicious and I knew you all would love to try something new also!

Mama Mayberry's Review and Giveaway!

Hosted by More Than Mommy &

I recently came across the cutest shop on Etsy. MamaMayberry’s is a shop that creates handmade plush toys. Well, of course I had to share such a sweet shop with my readers! Kristen from Mama Mayberry’s was kind enough to send me a Nerd Plush Octopus to try out and review for you all!

The day the Nerd arrived was so much fun. Upon opening the box, we saw that it was wrapped in the nicest little handmade fabric bag, with a gift card attached with a sweet message. It’s perfect for giving as a gift. Inside the bag was our Nerd plush, wrapped in tissue paper.

Upon removing it from the bag and wrapping paper, my son immediately staked a claim, naming him ‘The OctoNerd.’ He is absolutely adorable, and exactly as pictured. He is perfect for any kid, as are all of Mama Mayberry’s toys. Shari (5) and Alex (8) had a lot of fun looking at all the fun and unique toys on the Mama Mayberry website.

Kristin Mayberry is truly an artist (she has her BFA and MFA in painting!) who clearly puts thought and effort into her work. She should, as she originally started making toys for her own children. Each toy is double stitched, which is evident in looking at the perfect seams. I can’t tell you how many toys we have either thrown away or I’ve had to stitch up the seams again and again. Mama Mayberry’s toys are built to withstand a lot of love!

The octopus that I received to review is made with soft fleece fabrics, and he is stuffed very full, so he is not really very squishy. He measures approximately 6 inches by 6 inches. Mine is blue and green, but the colors are customizable for little ones who are in love with a particular color!

One note of caution, these toys should not be given for very young children (unless they are used solely for decoration!). The safety eyes used can prove a choking hazard, though I can tell you that they are very solidly placed. I even tried to pull one out (for the purpose of this review) and could not do it.

Mama Mayberry’s is generously willing to send a plush toy to one lucky winner! The winner will receive one plush toy of their choosing (no custom orders) – up to a $40 value!

*I received a product from Mama Mayberry’s in exchange for my honest review
